SouthPoint Financial Credit Union will have their 90th Annual Meeting on April 21, 2026 at the Best Western in New Ulm as well an option to livestream the event. Registration for the virtual livestream of the annual meeting is now available. A copy of the livestream will be shared at a later date.

In accordance with the Credit Union’s By-laws, the Nominating Committee has nominated for the Board of Directors the following candidates for the terms that expire at the Annual Meeting. The notice of these candidates was published in the December 31, 2025, member account statements:

• Mark Bruggeman – Incumbent: 3-year term – Mark is a 1974 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He has a degree in Business Administration from Mankato State University. Mark is retired, but formerly was the store manager for Kibble Equipment at their Sleepy Eye and New Ulm locations. He served on the Sleepy Eye Hockey Association Board from 1998 to 2004 and has served on the Board of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union since 1999.
• Scott Surprenant – Incumbent: 3-year term – Scott is a 1978 graduate of Luverne High School. He is a graduate of Southwest State University in Marshall with a degree in Restaurant Business Administration. He is currently employed as Field Training & Mentorship Leader at Mathiowetz Construction Company and has previously managed and had an ownership interest in Hardees Restaurants. Scott has been a volunteer in Sleepy Eye baseball and basketball programs, as well as the Sleepy Eye Area Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s School and Church. He joined the SouthPoint Financial Credit Union Supervisory Committee in 2004 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2007.
• Ashok Goyal – Incumbent: 3-year term – Ashok works in the hospitality business in New Ulm, Minnesota. He has an MBA and manages 3 hotels in the vicinity. Previously, Ashok has served on the board for Nortel Employees Credit Union for 4 years and Detroit Energy Credit Union for 1 year. Ashok served on the SouthPoint Supervisory Committee for one year and also served on the Community Advisor Committee for one year and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2022.

No additional nominations were submitted by petition by the deadline date included in the notice. Nominations may NOT be made from the floor of the Annual Meeting
